Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service carried out essential water safety training at a luxury hotel and spa.
On-call crews from Bicester Fire Station conducted a display of various water rescue techniques at Bicester Hotel and Spa’s on-site swimming lake.
The event took place yesterday between 11am and 12:45pm.
Exercises they practised included wading, throwlines and hose inflation.
All of which are techniques used to rescue people who find themselves struggling in the water, using equipment carried by every fire engine.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service say that it is important to remember that when it is sunny and warm, the water can still be very cold, which can lead to problems.
They also remind us that we should only swim in designated swimming areas which are lifeguarded.
