Bicester resident spends his evenings indulging in the heavens, snapping pictures of constellations as part of his astrophotography hobby.
Steve Hamer regularly posts his photos on Facebook with captions explaining what he has captured.
He says: “I find it both fascinating and humbling that with amateur equipment I am able to intercept a few scant photons that have travelled billions of miles, collect and convert them into images that can be shared.
“The size, beauty, and majesty of these things is truly staggering and helps me realise how small and insignificant we are.”
He added: “I am predominantly interested in deep space objects though at this time of the year when the skies are not astronomically dark, I move my attention to our nearest star.
"The sun is an incredibly dynamic and rewarding target with surprising detail when imaged using the correct equipment.”
