The government have launched a scheme to make it easier and more affordable for people to self-build their dream homes, and experts will be on hand to discuss it at an upcoming self-build exhibition in Oxfordshire.
Build it Live – a self-build show taking place at Bicester Heritage on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12 – will address topical issues including sustainable building.
Experts from Homes England will be present at the event to answer questions about the government’s new equity loan scheme for hopeful self-builders, called Help to Build.

The exhibition will offer several inclusive offshoots where visitors can learn about sustainability in a housing context.
Including a sustainable building products pavilion, heating option debate, a Graven Hill zone, free advice clinics and access to lots of experts.
The event is ideal for anyone undertaking their own self-build, renovation or extension project.
Thousands of suppliers will be present, along with Build It Magazine readers who have already realised their self-build dreams and want to share their stories and help others.
Chris Bates, Editor of Build It Magazine, said: “We’re proud to have stayed true to our self-build roots with ‘Build it Live’, which continues to be the UK’s most practical and focused self-build exhibition.
Tickets are available on the Build It Live website now for £12, and children under 16 are admitted free with an accompanying adult.
