The British Grand Prix intro video that showed two former drivers and an orange juice spillage was filmed at a pub in Oxfordshire.

David Coulthard and Billy Monger starred in a comical skit in the lead up to the British Grand Prix’s main event on Sunday.

In the sketch – which showed ironically how each of the pundits got to the Grand Prix – Mr Monger is about to sip from his glass of orange juice when Mr Coulthard comes speeding up in a Mercedes supercar, causing the juice to spill everywhere.

The scene was filmed at The Butchers Arms, in Fringford, just north of Bicester.

Manager of The Butchers Arms, John Dobbins, said: “I received a call from Channel 4’s production team about a week before they wanted to come and film.

“They said they were looking for an authentic country pub to film in, and so I said they could come here.

“After that they came and had a meeting with us, went through some legal disclaimers and told us that our regulars could participate as extras, as long as they turned up before 8:30am.

“Myself and the licensee of the pub, Simon Toop, were so excited. Simon is a huge Formula One fan.”

Channel 4 had originally planned a different sketch, wherein Mr Dobbins would have a tray of beer pulsed out of his hands by a passing supercar driven by Mr Coulthard.
