Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service reported: “Six crews from Bicester, Banbury, Kidlington, Wheatley, Hook Norton and Rewley Road, supported by a hydraulic platform from Rewley Road, incident support unit from Eynsham, and command unit from Slade Park, attended a severe house fire in the centre of Heyford Park yesterday afternoon, just after 3pm.
“The fire spread from a converted garage, affecting the large property, but luckily the occupants were able to raise the alarm and escape safely.
“Crews fought the fire from the front and rear using breathing apparatus, main jets and hose reels, whilst the hydraulic platform was able to gain access to the main roof and provide an aerial overview.
“South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Police also supported crews through the initial stages of the incident.”
Fire crews reinspected the property throughout the night, with specialist fire investigation officers on the scene today.
