A pensioner has reached out to the Oxford Mail saying that the construction noise near her home was ‘unbearable’.
Reh Kuester, who lives in Marsh Gibbon, near Bicester, said the noisy development work being carried out across the road from her home has made her “feel terrible.”
The pensioner, who has lived in Marsh Gibbon for 10 years, claims that the “unbearable” noise occurred every day from 8am to 4pm, between June 26 and July 13.
She said: “It was ridiculous. By lunch time I was going mad. I had to leave the house.
“My neighbours were the same. One of them told me she could not concentrate on her work and had to go elsewhere.

“On top of that, my neighbour said her house was shaking and filling with dust.
“Cars were also covered in dust.”
The construction work is being done by W.E. Black Limited, a developer operating out of Chesham.
A spokesperson for the company said: “I can confirm that we did carry out pile driving on this site because of poor ground conditions, and that the work was completed on the July 13.
“I entirely accept that there was an element of noise, but this is an open site and the noise has to be considered in context.
“In addition, it was only for a short period of time and only on four days between 8am and 4pm, and on Friday mornings.
“In any event, it is now all completed, and obviously won’t occur again.”
