Thames Valley Police’s Rural Crime Taskforce has had a busy week across the county.

This week, officers from the unit assisted with a search warrant, arrested one person in relation to a burglary, seized two cars, completed two searches and seized drugs, interviewed five people on suspicion of arson and seized a large quantity stolen tools.

Thames Valley Police launched its Rural Crime Taskforce in March with the aim to make Thames Valley a hostile place for those who commit rural crimes.

Rural crimes are offences that relate to farms, agriculture, wildlife, the environment and heritage sites where they are targeted due to their isolation or rural location.

Spanning across harm to animals and the theft of vital machinery, rural crime causes distress, misery and unnecessary hardship for farmers who rely on their land and machinery for their livelihoods.
