People put on their walking boots and took part in a fundraising history tour of a town in the county.

Bicester’s mayor, Councillor Alex Thrupp, and his consort Jamie-Lee Burford, invited people to take part in an hour-long walk around the town to raise money for the mayor’s charities – Nai’s House, Heyford and Bicester Veterans and Causeway Carers Bicester Group.

The walk began at Garth Park and was led by Bob Hessian, chairman of Bicester Local History Society.

During the walk, Mr Hessian pointed out buildings and other points of interest, and talked about the historic areas in the town.

Mayor Alex Thrupp said: “We would like to thank everyone for attending the Bicester historic walk and the local Bicester Historical Society for supporting this initiative.

“We were able to raise £145 for the mayor’s charities.”
