The festive season is set to begin in Bicester.

The Christmas Light Switch-on will take place on Saturday, November 27, in Bicester Town Centre.

The event will start at noon and residents can enjoy a host of festive stalls selling arts and crafts, gifts and food.

A host of activities have also been organised including street entertainers, toddler rides, stage performances, the great LED drummer and more.

There will be lantern making workshops during the day followed by a lantern parade after dark.

The festive lights will be switched-on by the Town Mayor Councillor Alex Thrupp at 6pm on the main stage on Market Square.

Bicester Advertiser:

And after the success of 2021's Garth House Illuminated Christmas Trail, it is back for another year - bigger and better!

The trail, sponsored by Bicester Village, will see Garth House and the park lit up with festive messages and dancing snowflakes, and the grounds alive with colour.

People will be able to walk around the grounds of the park and enjoy the array of lights, festive music and refreshments.

The event route will be accessible for wheelchairs, pushchairs and will be family-friendly.

This year's trail will be introducing a Christmas Market and a Santa's grotto - don't forget to book your ticket now.

If you are a community fundraiser, charity or business and would like to be part of the Christmas Market please get in touch via events@bicester.gov.uk and receive your application form.

The Garth House Illuminated Christmas Trail runs from Saturday December 3 to Sunday December 18 from 4.30pm to 9.30pm.

Tickets for half hour sessions are on sale now.
