A committed councillor has gained unanimous support from the county council on his motion to keep an important crossing open.
Calum Miller, councillor for Otmoor, presented his motion to keep London Road crossing, in Bicester, open when East West Rail moves forward with its plans.
In his speech, Mr Miller said: “This is a national rail infrastructure project that will bring local costs as well as national benefits.

“I am bringing this motion today so that we can send a very clear signal from this council that national funding needs to be allocated to provide a continued rail crossing for residents living south of London Road.
“I believe East West Rail has the expertise needed. So it’s now time for them to come forward with suitable proposals.
“I believe we can find great solutions but I know that it will take commitment and funding from East West Rail and government ministers to deliver these.”
