A new seven mile trail in the south of Cherwell has seen residents lacing up their walking boots and getting out into nature.
The trail, put together by Cherwell District Council and K5 Better Together, takes walkers through picturesque countryside and passes by several historic landmarks in Begbroke and Yarnton.
The circular walk complements three other five mile 'explorer routes' that give people the opportunity to discover Kidlington and its nearby villages.
The explorer routes - water vole, kingfisher, and butterfly - were first introduced in Kidlington in the spring of 2022 and are in addition to the family-friendly zoo trails that cover Kidlington.
They feature child-friendly games painted on the ground, bug houses, scramble boulders and balancing logs.
Assistant director of wellbeing and housing services at the district council, Nicola Riley, said: "Since launching our explorer routes across Kidlington and the neighbouring villages, it has been brilliant to see so many people lacing up their walking shoes and taking the chance to see more of the hidden gems the south of the district has to offer.
"As a district, we have so many stunning landmarks that illuminate the fascinating history of people and events that have helped shape the story of Cherwell.
"Our explorer routes are a brilliant way of learning more about these whilst improving your physical and mental health."
