A primary school summer fayre in Bicester last weekend received a visit from the mayor.

Bure Park Primary School held its annual summer fayre on Saturday, July 13, in which raised over £400.

The money will go towards providing iPads for the school pupils next year.

Hundreds of people attended, including the mayor of Bicester, Damien Maguire.

At the event there was a BBQ, homemade cream teas, a bouncy castle, face painting, refreshments, a tombola, and many games stalls including hook a duck, splat the rat, lucky dip and feed the clown.

There was also an inflatable football from Bicester Leisure Centre and a fire engine from Bicester Fire Station.

There were performances including cheerleaders from Bicester ECU, dancers from Elite Dance and singers from the school choir, as well as a raffle with prizes given by local businesses.

Ellie Coleman, who is part of the Bure Park School PTA, also known as Buddies, volunteered at the fayre and helped organise it.

Ms Coleman said the PTA are "delighted" with the amount of money raised.

She said: "The Bure Park School summer fayre is an annual tradition and loved by children and parents alike.

"It was wonderful to see the school community coming together to have so much fun.

"The weather was kind to us and we’re so grateful for all the support we’ve had from local businesses and community groups, we couldn’t have done it without them."
