A sightseeing bus company is offering the first guided bus and walking tour that unlocks the secret histories of Oxford’s black scholars.
Tuesday, October 1 marked the start of Black History Month, an opportunity to recognise black culture, history and achievements.
Award-winning creative, producer, and historian Pamela Roberts has created a bespoke live commentary 'to breathe life into the stories' of black scholars who have made a lasting impact in academia, law, politics, and the arts in the city.

Passengers will get to walk the paths they walked, discover where they shared ideas, nurtured their intellects, and made their mark, with expert insights from professional tour guides all while enjoying spectacular views of Oxford from the comfort of the bus.
Ms Roberts is the author of 'Black Oxford: The Untold Stories of Oxford University’s Black Scholars' and her work as founder and director of Black Oxford Untold Stories has raised the profile of many black scholars at the University of Oxford.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and an alumnus of the Eccles Centre for American Studies at the British Library.
A Black Oxford Bus and Walking Tour is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday October 5 /6 at 1pm as well as October 12 and October 20.
Tickets can be purchased through the City Sightseeing Oxford website or at the Visitor Information Point on the High Street, Oxford.
