Skygazerswere treated to the largest and brightest supermoon of the year yesterday evening.
The full moon shone so brightly astronomers from Australia to parts of the UK were able to see its craters.
This month's full moon, called the Hunter's Moon, is the third of four supermoons in 2024, all of which have appeared in the past few months.
During this time, the Earth's moon appeared to be around 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter than usual.
Oxford Mail Camera Club top contributor Ian Marriott captured the moon rising over Oxford.
He said: "Couldn't catch it at the horizon because of a low bank of distant cloud, then it half appeared before disappearing behind the local cloud.
"Quite high when it eventually broke through."
