One lane of a major Oxfordshire road is expected to remain through the overnight hours due to emergency barrier repairs.
There was a crash on the A34 southbound between the junctions for Islip the A44 which caused the whole road to close.
One lane then reopened for emergency work on the barrier.
At 3.30pm, one lane remained closed with more than five miles of congestion and delays of up to an hour throughout most of Friday (October 25).

On X, National Highways posted: "Lane 1 (of 2) remains closed on the #A34 southbound between the #B4027 (#Islip) and the #A44 (#Oxford) for barrier repairs following a collision.
"There's currently approx. 5.5 miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 40 minutes above usual journey times."
Thames Valley Police declined to comment on the crash.
National Highways said the partial road closure of the southbound A34 between Islip and the Peartree junction was expected to continue into the overnight hours of Saturday, October 26.
