To mark National Black Cat Day (October 27), Oxford Mail readers have been sending in photos of their feline friends.
The day was created by Cats Protection to celebrate the animals, which often face a hard time finding owners to adopt them if they end up at a rescue centre.
Cherwell Cats Protection said despite their "often sweet disposition", black cats still take longer to rehome than gingers and tabbies.
The charity is looking to find owners for two black cats with names inspired by the Oasis brothers.
A spokesperson for Cherwell Cats Protection said: "Liam and Noel are two young cats looking for a home together.
"Noel is a lap cat who enjoys playing with fishing rod toys and Liam is a sweet boy who enjoys head rubs and would probably like a lap if Noel gave him the chance."
