A gin distillery has launched a crowdfunding campaign, despite having already reached its initial target.

Sky Wave Gin, based at Bicester Heritage, aimed to raise £150,000 from investors.

However, after an early-bird campaign, the distillery has already surpassed this target, raising £230,000, but limited shares are still available from £10.

The award-winning distillery is home to The World’s Best Contemporary Gin according to The World Gin Awards and was named The Distillery of The Year 2024 by The Gin Guide.

Co-founder and master distiller Andrew Parsons said: "The community we've built since launching in 2018 has got us where we are today and that is why we want to give you this opportunity now to own part of the business and join us on our next exciting stage of growth.

Ahead of launching the early-bird campaign in October, Rachel Hicks, Sky Wave co-founder, said: “We wouldn't be where we are without you.

"We are an independent business, and our dedicated team works really, really hard to create and deliver great drinks and experiences for you.

"Thank you for supporting us.”

The company warned in October that this is a "high-risk investment and you are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong".
