Broadcaster Nick Grimshaw has unveiled a train named in tribute to country pop singer Shania Twain.

The unveiling of 'Shania Train' comes ahead of Ms Twain's performances across the Great Western Railway (GWR) network.

The train operator serves a number of stations across Oxfordshire.

Over the coming weeks, she will be appearing at Glastonbury, Chepstow Racecourse and BST Hyde Park.

To mark the occasion, Mr Grimshaw revealed a GWR train vinyl splashed in pink leopard print at London Paddington.

The broadcaster spoke to Ms Twain on the BBC Sounds podcast 'Sidetracked with Annie and Nick'.

In their conversation, the singer expressed her joy at having a train named in her honour in Switzerland.

Mr Grimshaw then suggested that the UK should have a 'Shania Train' too, during her performances at the festivals.

He said: "It is actually on. The Shania Train is going to exist in the UK.

"I cannot believe that my brain has created an actual train.

"You could be going to Glastonbury riding the Shania Train. So giddy up, let's go girls."

GWR sales and marketing director, Amanda Burns, added: "As soon as we heard about 'Shania Train' it impressed us very much.

"Shania Twain is a country music icon and this is a great way to celebrate her forthcoming appearances.

"We hope 'Shania Train' turns a few heads as fans flock to what promises to be another unforgettable summer."
