BICESTER came from 10-0 down to beat Banbury 20-10 in a preseason practice match.
Following two 20-minute training sessions, the clubs played a friendly over two 20-minute halves, in which no conversions were taken.
Banbury led 10-0 at the end of the first half through tries from Matt Goode and Jed Boyle.
But Bicester, inspired by flyhalf and skipper Dave Hampton, stormed back after the break.
First, lock Ali Atashgah’s powerful drive created the space for former Malvern prop George Withers to scamper across for a try to the right of the posts.
Five minutes later, Bicester were level when centre Lemeki Valevou sliced through the Banbury defence before releasing young winger Lewis Foy on a 40-metre sprint to the line.
Immediately, from a move started by Hampton, flanker Francois Wiese darted over to put Bicester ahead.
Finally, a tremendous tackle by Bicester winger Christian Mann produced a turnover ball, and scrum-half Craig Smith embarked on a 35-metre sprint to the line.
