WHEATLEY put on a seven-try show to reach the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Shield with a 45-7 win over BB&O Championship counterparts Chipping Norton.
They raced into a 19-0 lead, with tries from Andy Willis, Nick Banton and Dan Rule.
Aaron Laman converted the first two scores.
Chipping Norton replied with a converted try as Wheatley led 19-7 at the break.
The home side went on to dominate in the second half, with Laman side-stepping his way over, before Cailin Taylor and Jack Smith crossed to make it 38-7.
Wheatley saved the best try until last as Simon Chadbone finished from 25 yards after a great run from deep inside his own half by Jordan Hook.
Laman converted five times, taking his tally to 15 points.
Oxford University Whippets join them in the last four, following a 45-15 win over BB&O Championship outfit Harwell at Iffley Road.
The home side’s speed and support play saw them lead 14-0 early on, before the visitors responded through Lewis Giddings’s try.
Whippets added another score to lead 19-5 at the break, but James Hoskyns-Jones crossed for Harwell.
The hosts scored four more tries, while Lee Lewis went over for the visitors.
Blue Boar are through following Faringdon’s concession after two players suffered injury in the first half.
They were left with 13 on the pitch and were trailing 35-3.
Alchester were handed a walkover by Oxford.
