BICESTER will be aiming to reach new heights when they entertain Trowbridge in the Southern Counties League promotion play-offs tomorrow.
The north Oxfordshire club have never played above level seven, so promotion to South West 1 East would see them break new ground.
Bicester, who finished second in the North division, were all geared up to face Swanage & Wareham, but they were pipped for second place in the South division by Trowbridge.
“We played Swanage earlier in the season in a cup game, so we were keeping an eye on them,” said Bicester back row forward Dan Spencer.
“So we know nothing about Trowbridge.”
Bicester have home advantage after securing more league points than their rivals, which swings it in their favour..
However, Spencer and prop George Withers are absent, attending separate pre-arranged stag parties, while flanker Jack Horwood is ruled out after suffering concussion in the win over Stow.
“I’m confident we have enough strength in depth to win and achieve our great ambition of promotion,” added Spencer.
