BICESTER conceded nine tries as they crashed 57-7 at home to Chippenham, their second heavy defeat following promotion to South West 1 East.
The visitors scored their bonus-point fourth try after only 20 minutes, and Bicester’s cause was not helped by Lemeki Valevou and Dan Spencer being shown yellow cards.
The hosts, who were let down by some poor tackling, already trailed 43-0 midway through the second half, when they scored their only try.
No 8 Wes Westaway ploughed over from a five-metre scrum, with Charlie Bethell converting.
But Chippenham finished strongly, adding the last two of their nine tries, six of which were converted by fly half Domenic Riccio.
Bicester will be looking for a big improvement, when they travel to face Oxfordshire rivals Grove on Saturday.
Other result: Bletchley 2nd 10, Bicester 2nd 0.
