DAVID Kuester won two medals on his return to action at the British Masters Championships in Birmingham.
The Bicester AC and Oxford City AC veteran underwent a knee replacement operation in June.
But just nine weeks later, Kuester took silver in the vet 70 weight (heavy hammer) with an effort of 10.9m and bronze in the hammer with 27.14.
Meanwhile, Alchester RC athletes were in action at the Headington 5.
Chris Lumley enjoyed a strong debut to finish 27th overall, with Rob Kerr the third vet 60 home.
Caroline Kerr set a personal best to finish second in the vet 55 category.
Alchester’s Shaun O’Gorman competed in the Helmdon Hurler on Bank Holiday Monday, coming home 15th.
SIMON Barnaby won the OxfordTri Sprint Triathlon at Radley College Sports Centre on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Bicester Tri member triumphed in 1.02.57, with clubmate Richard Francis fifth and Chris Edge completing his first event in 1.32.38.
JasonCunningham earned his third Ironman finisher’s medal at Vichy, France.
He completed the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and marathon in 12hrs 55mins 33secs.
Clubmate Chris Mackie was also in France, competing in the Château de Chantilly triathlon, finishing in 2.53.17.
