ATHLETICS: ELSIE Jacobs produced the pick of the performances among the 24 Bicester AC runners at the second round of the Chiltern Cross Country League.
She finished in 6mins 44secs to cross the line seventh out of the 82-strong field in the under 11 girls’ race at Milton Keynes.
Anna Jolliffe (11.13) was 18th for the under 13 girls, which was the second best time for Division 2, where Bicester are second after two events thanks to the combined efforts of Jolliffe, Lucy McGrath and Jenny Critchley.
The under 15 boys are also second in Division 2, with Louis Bushby (14.29) third in the category to lead home Edward Jolliffe and debutant Jacob Neal.
- Former Bicester member Ben West finished an impressive 24th for England among a 213-strong field for the under 20 race at the Cross International in Burgos, Spain.
- Bure Park regained the overall trophy at the Bicester Primary Schools’ Cross Country event.
Almost 550 pupils took part, with Isabelle Webb an impressive winner of year 5/6 girls race, while Thomas Styles did likewise in the boys’ equivalent.
POOL: KEA Legends went top of the Bicester Advertiser Pool League Premier Division after a 9-0 whitewash over Le Cheval Blanc.
