CHESTERTON were crowned Division 1 champions when beating Long Crendon Res 5-1 away from home in the Oxfordshire Senior League.
Ricardo Benjamin (2), James Casbierd (2) and James Kirby were on the scoresheet, with Josh Tack replying.
Heyford Athletic’s slim Premier Division title hopes suffered a blow.
Despite beating Launton Sports 4-0 in midweek, thanks to doubles from Owen Cox and Kieran Chambers, they lost 2-1 at Kennington Athletic.
Joshua Nicholls scored twice for the victors, which means Freeland are now just one win from the title.
The leaders had further boosted their hopes when beating Charlton United 4-1 last Tuesday.
Tom McCudden scored a hat-trick, with Danny Taylor also netting.
Second-placed Kennington were also in action that night, seeing off Mansfield Road 6-3.

Meanwhile, Joe Ryan’s treble helped Garsington beat Yarnton 3-0.
Luke Moss and Luke Phillips scored for Launton in their 2-2 draw with Mansfield Road, for whom Rob Hatt and Phil Kelly netted.
Marston Saints were 4-1 winners at Middleton Cheney.
Ben Evans, Shaun Jacob, Jae Sharkey and Tai Thomas were on target, with Lee Davis replying.
Marston Saints Res celebrated being Division 2 champions with a 2-1 win at Mansfield Road Res, thanks to Billy Young’s double.
They secured the title last Tuesday when Jae Sharkley’s hat-trick earned a 3-2 victory over Horspath Res, for whom Dan Normington and Matt Comley scored.
Heyford Athletic Res and Hanborough Res drew 1-1.
Robert Gosling’s goal for Heyford was cancelled out by Luke Archer.
