WITNEY Swifts crushed Division 1 basement boys Marsh Gibbon by ten wickets.
The OCA League match was preceded by a minute’s silence in memory of their former captain Andy Fisher, who died three years ago to the day, before Swifts paid the perfect tribute with a crushing win.
George Townsend (4-31) and Redd Pratley (3-21) combined to dismiss Marsh Gibbon for 110 and then Chris Asque (52no) and Max Godwin (49no) led Swifts to 111-0.
Oxenford’s hopes suffered a big setback as they lost by 15 runs against Middleton Cheney.
Steve Twynham (61) and Ryan Markham (54) helped Middleton to 199-8, before Barry White claimed 4-42 to help dismiss Oxenford for 184, Junaid Aziz top-scoring with 61.
Sam Hibberd claimed 5-14 to help Stonesfield to a 96-run win at Faringdon.
Stonesfield set 239-7 as Adrian Birkett hit 80, Dan Farrant 58 and Tim Wyatt 57, Rob Owen taking 5-47.
Hibberd then ran through Faringdon to dismiss them for 143.
Chipping Norton won a thriller with Westcott by two wickets with three balls left.
Mark Strong top-scored with 56 in Westcott’s 183-9, before Imran Hussain struck 58 to see Chippy home at 186-8.
Wolvercote dismissed visitors Garsington & Cowley for 117 to set up a four-wicket win, Rahul Gupta the star with 4-41 for the home side.
Division 2 leaders Wootton & Boars Hill edged out visitors Cairns Fudge by one wicket to stay top on the runs per wicket ratio.
Andy Small (51) helped Fudge to 181 all out, Nik King claiming 4-48.
Shaun Morton then hit 46 as Wootton squeezed home at 182-9.
East & West Hendred stayed in touch as they beat Kilkenny by 50 runs.
Jack Mulford (93) shone in Hendred’s 223-9, and then Jon Francis claimed 4-31 to help dismiss the hosts for 173, Chris King top-scoring with 67.
Bampton eased past visitors Stanton Harcourt by eight wickets.
Simon Launder (4-34) and Ady Brooksbank (3-31) combined to restrict Stanton to 137 all out, before Jake Payne hit 53 not out in Bampton’s 138-2.
Watlington also posted an eight-wicket win as they chased down Tetsworth’s
167-9 with ease.
Rama Garimella (74no) and Hassan Khushi (59no) were the stars as the visitors got home off the first ball of the 26th over.
Andy Oliver’s unbeaten century helped Kidlington to a 16-run victory at Risinghurst in Division 3.
Oliver hit 116 not out and Sam Rodway was unbeaten on 73 as Kidlington set 238-3.
Martin Kalyan then struck 102 in Risinghurst’s reply, but they finished short on 222-6.
Robbie Nicholson’s ton helped Combe to a ten-wicket win over visitors Marcham.
Marcham were bowled out for 174, Tristan Barratt top-scoring with 59, but Combe made light work of the target as Nicholson (100no) and Mark Westaby (67no) saw Combe to 175-0.
Hook Norton extended their lead at the top to 62 points as they comfortably defeated visitors Dorchester by six wickets.
Chris Rudling (67) saw Dorchester to 169-8, which was not enough as Dan White (73no) led Hooky to 170-4.
Radley defeated hosts Wantage by 69 runs, while Brill saw off visitors Broughton & North Newington by two wickets.
Steventon crushed hosts Uffington by a huge margin of 257 runs as they marched on at the top of Division 4.
Glen Willett (108) and Richard Chapman (96) saw Steventon to 295-5, before Tom Cannon took 5-10 and Mithun Sortur 4-26 as Uffington were shot out for 38.
Oxenford 2nd eased past hosts Deddington by 170 runs. James Kempton hit 83 in Oxenford’s 220 all out and then Kusal Lokuge took 3-11 as Deddington slumped to 50 all out.
Garsington & Cowley 2nd beat Wolvercote 2nd by 26 runs.
Waheed Rehman (65) helped Garsington to 183 all out, Darren Jones taking 5-44.
Jones then hit 64 in Wolvercote’s reply, but they were bowled out for 157.
Shrivenham saw off visitors Witney Swifts 2nd by 18 runs in a low-scoring clash.
They were all out for 124 as youngster Owen Dore took 4-25, but Swifts then fell for 106 in their reply.
Norman Nisar took 5-24 as Tetsworth 2nd maintained their 100 per cent record in Division 5 with a five-wicket win at Freeland.
Nisar’s haul sent the hosts tumbling to 99 all out, before Clifford Jacobs hit 63 not out to lead Tetsworth to 101-5.
In Division 6, Jimmy Appleton’s six-wicket haul was in vain as Chesterton fell to a 62-run defeat at Watlington 2nd.
Watlington were bowled out for 157, Steve Strong hitting 51 and Appleton taking 6-36.
In reply, Chesterton slumped to 95 all out as Charl Maughan claimed 4-3.
Jacob Souch hit a century for Stanton Harcourt 2nd as they beat Deddington 2nd by 195 runs in Division 7 North.
Souch struck exactly 100, with Kevin Paintin and Declan Wastie both hitting 51 in Stanton’s 267 all out, Simon Oldfield taking 5-51.
Deddington then fell for just 72 as Wastie claimed 3-13.
Stonesfield 2nd eased past Kidlington 3rd by 133 runs.
Jordan Norman top-scored with 93 and Stewart Moss hit 88 in Stonesfield’s 258-5 and then Rowant Moss took 3-25 in Kidlington’s 125 all out.
In Division 7 South, a haul of 5-19 from Andrew Chalmers and 61 not out for Stephen Hill helped Marcham 2nd to an 89-run victory at Sunningwell 2nd.
