Banbury United is mourning the loss of former director and club secretary, David Jesson.
Known for his vast experience in local sports, Mr Jesson was appointed a director in January 1982.
The club said he was previously a treasurer at the Banbury & District Sports Advisory Council, chairman of Banbury Table Tennis League, and fixtures secretary at Banbury Tennis Club.
He took over as secretary from Raymond Alcock in 1985, serving until 1996 before becoming secretary of Hellenic League.
Mr Jesson was Banbury United's honorary president until 2013.
His funeral will take place at St Peter & St Paul’s Church Kings Sutton, on May 23 at 1pm.
The club sent its sympathies to Mr Jesson's family and friends.
